About Me

My Photo
Hi everyone! Welcome to my blog. I'm a middle aged beauty(yeah right) that loves nail polish along with makeup and skincare. I don't know how much I'll be able to teach but I just want to have fun with this and hope you all do enjoy or at least get a laugh from it. To let you know where I got the name from: I just became a grandmother for the first time on September 13, 2011 and had made it a fact that I would not be granny or grandma. I am gonna be a Mimi, hence the name.

FutureDerm Time Release Retinol Review

I recently heard about a new retinol product and was excited to get a chance to try it out. I have been using Retin A and retinols on my face for a few years now, ever since I found out that it is one of the best products to prevent and reverse the signs of aging. I'm all for that!

Some of the benefits are:
Keeps skin firm. Retinol prevents collagen loss by inhibiting matrix metalloproteinases, enzymes that degrade collagen.
Treats fine lines and wrinkles. Retinol increases cellular turnover, keeping skin smooth and signs of aging at bay.
Prevents future damage. Retinol acts as an antioxident, scavenging free radicals.

When I started using this I knew that it was 0.5% retinol and I had always used .025 in Retin A as my face would become very dry and irritated if I used a stronger strength. But FutureDerm has some added ingredients to help soften the blow or irritation that can come with a retinol. It is also a time release formula that is microencapsulated that targets the retinoid receptors for eight hours. I did not have any problems with it causing irritation and if I did get a flake or two then I just used a gentle exfoliant and it was taken care of. I can use them nightly without problems like I did using straight Retin A in a weaker strength.

Here are the instructions for usage: For best results, apply a pea-sized amount to thoroughly cleansed skin the evening.  Carefully avoid the eye area.  If you have never used microencapsulated retinol products before, there may be a transitional period.  Begin by limiting use to two times per week, and then gradually increase frequency to every other night, and finally once an evening as tolerated.  As with many products, best results can be achieved under the supervision of a health care professional.

I really like this also because it is absorbed immediately into the skin with no greasy feel. It's like you have nothing on your skin but oh what is happening to help turn back the clock is amazing.
Be sure to check this awesome product out at FutureDerm if you're at the age that you seriously need some help with some not so welcome lines and wrinkles and if you're not at that age yet, it's never to early to start to prevent aging.
FutureDerm also has a 30 day unconditional guarantee on all their products.
I have been using this almost 30 days and can tell that it is helping the appearance of my skin and also will continue to help prevent further damage. I highly recommend it!
